Engagement pics compliment your wedding pics, but never compete. Where wedding pics are more curated and posed for the most part, telling the story of your wedding, engagements are full of fun, candid adventure, capturing the story of your relationship! SO WHAT’S YOUR STORY????
Engagement Sessions-
Engagement sessions with 2-3 outfits , 3 locations- $300 creative fee + gallery.

Each session is “ROAD-TRIP STYLE”…..we meet, drive around for 1.5-2 hours and take pics! Guys, this means no boring dragged out photo-session, Gals this means a ton of outfit changes and different backgrounds for a ton of variety, and most importantly, a chance for your man to get to know me and feel comfortable with me before the big day! We brainstorm outfit ideas based on your individual look …..the “look” and outfits dictate the locations. Includes 3 outfit changes, 3 locations and an online gallery to use and print for “all your wedding things”
ENGAGEMENT SHOOT CHECKLIST:
SCHEDULE YOUR DATE– If you are having out of town guests, the earlier you can send them a save the date, the better. They will appreciate having time to financially plan and make travel arrangements early, saving them money.
TIME– Shoots take 2-2.5 hrs.
LOCATION– Engagement sessions are done road trip style…I drive, you guys drive and we stop at coolness along the way. We will go to 3-5 different outdoor locations, based on the outfits you brought….not every couple looks like a beach couple, not every couple uses a barn background. Its totally customized, by me, as a stylist and photographer to try and come up with a concept/outfit/location that makes sense with your look as a couple! This is really what sets me apart in this business.
PAYMENT- Session totals $500 if you want to own a full set of every image we take. $300 minimum is due at time of shoot.
OUTFITS- Bring at least 3 outfits ( really for me, the more choices the better)-If you want, send me a photo upon booking and based on “your look” I will help with outfit suggestions, theme, color scheme……if you decide to DYI, aim for 3 very different looks….
GUYS-

If you have a fashionista of a man...let him go nuts! That means you need to step up your game and bring some great dresses, skirts, heels, clutches…….

If not, bring him stuff he would normally wear that loosely goes with each of your outfits….not the best day to spring some “girlie” stuff on him to wear. As long as he looks and feels like himself, the pics will turn out great!
GALS-

Ideas for looks for gals……..
1. All American- Jeans or daisy dukes with flannels and converse or boots
2. Maxi dress with sandals or no shoes, with him in a button up.
3. A retro look is always amazing! Fun dresses and full skirts.
4. Skinny jeans or leggings with tall boots, layers up top, infinity scarf.
5. Bright boho dresses or tops with great jewelry, great shoes.
6. Jeans/ dresses, cowboy boots, great top
7. Jean jacket and a sundress
8. Theme- If you have matching or rival jerseys, if you guys love too hunt together, dress the part-
Shop e-bay, thrift, Amazon, borrow from friends, etc….It does not have to be expensive

Hair and makeup……. HACK- use your engagement pics as your wedding day hair and makeup trial!!! Hair should be done. Makeup should be darker than usual, with a darker cheek & dark eye. Brows are important in pics, so groom them and fill them in a bit!!
CHECK THE WEATHER- Unless it it a full downpour within an hour of your session, like your adventurous love story, it’s a go! Overcast is the absolute best….so unless full wet rain is comin’ down, we shoot!
CONFIRM YOUR DATE BEFOREHAND– If you confirm your photo shoot date and time, it becomes yours. That means, payment is due on that date. Once you confirm, you are also confirming that you are purchasing that time from Rustically Romantic. Therefore, if you cancel, or never show up, payment is still due. Please do not book with Darby Johnson Photography, if you are not willing to abide by this.
READ THIS CANCELLATION POLICY– Upon scheduling, client immediately agrees to follow cancellation policy. All cancellations must be made 4 weeks in advance, otherwise payment is due in full. If you do not agree to the terms, do not schedule a session.

BOUDOIR SESSION
TIPS/TRICKS, POLICIES,
BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT,
HOW TO PREPARE,
AND WHAT TO BRING FOR YOUR UPCOMING SHOOT
SCHEDULING YOUR DATE- Plan about two months prior to “gifting” the final product.
TIME- Shoots take approx. 3 hrs. and are typically scheduled on a weekday (to avoid any crowded areas) You can choose between morning or late afternoon depending on availability.
LOCATIONS- Boudoir sessions are done road trip style, natural light, unless you have reserved a hotel room or Airbnb type setting ( average bedrooms are not super photogenic). I drive, you and your bestie follow….We will go on a field trip, girls day, to 3-5 different outdoor locations, based on the outfits you brought.
**WHAT TO SHOP FOR AND BRING **
1. PAYMENT
2. OUTFITS with shoes!!!
Bring at least 3-5 outfits ( really for me, the more choices the better)-
Anything goes…some girls have brought “regular clothes”…other have brought lingerie…..some have brought chunky blankets, sheets, guitars, rifle & pistols, wedding veils, cowboy boots, chaps, customized wedding jackets, their wedding shoes, loads of lingerie…classic black (strappy) and classic white looks, swim suits, cigars, his favorite shirt with booty shorts, maxi hippie skirts with crop top or less, daisy dukes with boots, flannels, sports jerseys, uniform shirts, his favorite beer, champagne, his car/truck to pose on… HOW DO YOU WANT TO SURPRISE HIM?
3. MAKEUP 1.get a good spray tan and bring touch up makeup. Many girls use their practice wedding day makeup trial day if they didn’t do engagement pics!!! Hair should be done. Makeup should be darker than usual, with a darker cheek & dark eye. Wear lashes! Brows are important in pics, so groom them and fill them in a bit!!
4. BRING A BESTIE!!!!! Changing, hair assistant, designated driver if you need some drinks, shade creator, overall day of assistant!!!!
5. Towel, blanket, robe, flip flops, snack, water, full tank of gas, and cute accessories.
